Is it just me, or is this on the increase? Does it make you feel depressed like it does to me? I'm talking about the real life images, or images that look real. I'm not talking about the Nightmare On Elm Street style imagery or anything that looks fake.

Here's a brief description....

Quote:
Graphic violence generally consists of any clear and uncensored depiction of various violent acts. Commonly included depictions include murder, assault with a deadly weapon, accidents which result in death or severe injury, suicide, and torture. In all cases, it is the explicitness of the violence and the injury inflicted which results in it being labelled "graphic".

Images can be found in the media, on Facebook, and even in avatars. I'm really sensitive to certain news stories, i will switch it off or change channel if permitted. I do not like the negativity of it.

I do not like how they record every death in a particular war. They've never done it before so why do it now? It feels like i'm watching a live funeral on TV! I have the utmost respect for these people who have died fighting for their country, but i have a feeling it's being put there for political gain. These people weren't forced into this dangerous job.

Is it just me? Have i become overly sensitive or has everyone else lost their respect for the dead? If i jumped (perish the thought) off a third story building would it be right for someone to then photograph the result and post it on every site they can find? Most people post these images because they don't want you to do the same. I'm up for persuasion for not jumping off a building but i'm not up for seeing my dead body posted on Twitter and every other site you can think of. If anyone did that i will surely haunt them down.

Where do we draw the line here? I don't think even the media knows, i don't think they will stop either.

I wouldn't go and read Middle Eastern newspapers. They'll print a death scene right on the front cover, no matter how savagely gory it is. Even if there is blood sprayed everywhere, they'll graphically show it with an approving headline.

"blood and gore" are just a natural result of great violent impact on the human body. i think that your distaste for these images is instinctual. it may be a protective mechanism left over from the fight to survival days.

its not hypersensitivity; most people who see these images respond this way.
