Question about diagnosis

Hi,
I would like some opinions because I don't know what to do.
I have almost all of the symptoms of AS, but I don't have some that are supposed to be important.
Among other things, I have all the problems with social interaction, but I don't feel it is because I can't read gestures, I think I don't have a problem with that. I also undertand humor and sarcasm, and I don't feel I had to learn that, it feels natural.

My problem is that I'm thinking of seeking a diagnosis, but maybe it is already obvious that what I have is not asperger. I know you don't have to have all the characteristics to have AS, but maybe lacking those particular symptoms already indicates it's not AS.

So, the question is, could an aspie understand body language, sarcasm and humor naturally? Do you think I would be wasting my money by seeking a diagnosis if I don't have those problems?

Why would you want a diagnosis in the first place? Do you experience problems that a dx would be necessary to getting help (accommodation, treatment, acknowledgment)?

Some people with ASD can read body language, it's their relative slowness and inability to respond to them in time that cause issues for them. Also, good sense of humor isn't rare among people on the spectrum.

I want a diagnosis because I would like to know the reasons for all the weird difficulties I've had in every aspect of my life. It would give my mind some peace.
With a diagnosis I would know how to deal with those problems, and I would get medication for my anxiety.
And when I learn what my problem is, I'll be able to meet other people with the same problem through an association or something like that.
I do have the problem you mention.
