When people are about to hit me and just at the last centimeter of the fist going towards me they pull back, I already say "ouch" when I haven't felt a thing physically.

I too feel pain when someone touches me, especially if the touch comes very suddenly. I guess I'm really oversensitive to touch.

Me too. Weirdly, I feel pain at a unexpected light touch, but apparently don't feel 'enough' pain in serious situations. My Dr once treated me for constipation when I actually had a large tumour in the intestine. He didn't think it could be anything serious because I wasn't reporting 'enough' pain!

Sounds like a sensory processing issue, which is common among people who are on the autism spectrum.

My son's pain perception is skewed, so that he finds light touches or minor injuries painful, while being oblivious to injuries or conditions that would normally be very painful.

I believe this is why it is apparently not uncommon for people with sensory processing issues to suffer a burst appendix, seemingly without warning. If my son seems out of sorts I often press on his stomach and check his temperature to make sure it's not appendix related.

Good policy, Marcia. If he's wired anything like me, he'll also sometimes be aware of discomfort, but may be unable to identify where it comes from.

No I don't have this. If somebody touches my bag or head or neck or the top of my arms, I immediately get a feeling of relaxation through me, as though my body thinks I'm going to get a massage. Then I feel a tingling sensation, which feels worse when my body knows it's not going to be a massage, just a temporary touch.

For me, any kind of touching from another person, is pain. But the doctor can stick me in the a** with a huge needle, and I don't feel any pain, and I've had surgery with no anesthetic, and that didn't bother me near as much as a pat on the shoulder. No lie,no exaggeration!

People touching bothers me because of the "vibes" or "energy feilds" people give off. Even people not touching me, but just being in close proximity hurts becuase of the "energy feilds" they give off. Yet, I've nearly cut off my own fingers and and only noticed when I saw blood. I had a hystorectomy and didn't need any pain meds and was back to normal the next day. I also had my wisdom teeth removed with a local. People tell me I have a "high pain tolerence", I don't think I have the ability to feel pain. If I know something is going to be painful, I can aparenty just mentaly shut off my ability to feel pain. But I have to know in advance. Whenever I have blood drawn, the sensation of the bandage always bothers me more than the actual procedure itself.

I don't feel pain when people touch me. I used to freak out when I was touched as a child but this hasn't happened in years. Sometimes I don't like to be touched but i depends on who's touching me. I hate hugging most people though. I would rather just high five them.

I don't easily feel pain at all. Whenever I have been injured, I don't feel a lot of pain so I'll keep stressing the injury until it gets serious. I have felt strains in my legs while running and I leave the pain alone until I end up pulling something. I should probably be more careful. I have a high tolerance for pain unless the injury has become quite severe.

I didn't realize people with sensory processing disorders feel pain at a light touch. I don't like being touched, but I think that's social anxiety more than tactile defensiveness. But I do hate getting wet, I take showers to wash my hair but the water striking my skin is very distressing for me. I wouldn't call it pain, but it freaks me out every time.

I hate being hugged and giving hugs. My parents had to train me to accept them, but they were only able to get me to accept them. I've never anniciated a hug with anyone. I hug my bearded dragon all the time, but maybe that's because it's not a true hug and I know she isn't going to try and hug me back. I've NEVER kissed my parents or anyone. I kiss babies and animals all the time, but it's probably becuase I know they won't try to kiss me back. I kiss my bearded dragon all the time on the nose and cheeks. My mom freaks out everytime becuase she thinks I am going to get sick from it, but there has never been a reported case of salmonella from a bearded dragon and if there is any sort of bacteria in Pippin's mouth, it's not like the two of us "French kiss" each other. And besides, if she does have bacteria in her mouth, I think I'd be immune to it by now.

only if someone touches my spine. i wince and feel pain even at the slightest touch, and there's nothing wrong with my back, not physically. a dog shoved her soft, moist muzzle in my back and i jumped, ouch.
but if someone's going to hit me i don't feel pain, didn't in kickboxing class. in fact, i have to be hit pretty hard to feel pain.

Sometimes. It depends on how I'm touched. I have back trouble and I seem to have a lot of nerve problems, pinched nerves or reflected nerve pain.

If people talk about touching me, I feel it just as if they really did it.
