I'm thinking of taking my son there for two or three days later in the year, and wondered if anyone had been and what they thought of it.

I've been looking at reviews online and they seem pretty mixed. It seems that you can get some kind of pass to avoid queueing if you have a disability and you can pay extra to bypass some queues altogether.

I detest and loathe queues. :(

Isn't there one near Billund in Denmark? I thought that was the most famous one in Europe? No, there is one in the UK as well.

I know this might not appeal to you but have you thought of searching on Flickriver for photos of the theme park? You might be able to make up your mind from looking at those.

Certainly is. I have been to both the Billund Legoland and the UK one at Windsor (during the same European trip in 2007). The Billund one (in my opinion) is the best, but the Windsor one is fine and well worth a visit.

My children are not on the spectrum, so I cannot say about its difficulties in that regard. They were OK for me (undiagnosed mature Aspie adult at the time).

One possibility might be to contact the Windsor Legoland and ask them when crowds tend to be at their lowest - eg which days of the week, which times of day, which holidays, etc. Perhaps tell them your child would greatly enjoy Legoland provided they could attend when it was relatively quiet. Hopefully, Legoland would like to boost their customer traffic during those quieter times and wouldn't mind telling you the best times to visit.

I was going to say this but didn't. This would be another possibility as well.

I would love to go back to Denmark again! Perhaps I could get a flight from Manchester-Billund and take the Legoland in as well as hiring a car and driving around the peninsula.

Thanks for your comments and suggestions. I'll check out flickriver for photos - that's a great idea. I'll also find out when it's likelier to be quieter. We're in Scotland, so if my son's October school holiday doesn't coincide with English holidays that might be the best time.

Legoland are building a hotel on-site, but it doesn't open till March so if I leave it till later then I'll have a better chance judging from reviews whether it would be worth paying the extra money for.
