I feel like this a lot. It appears to me often that NTs are less aware of the nature of the universe around them, opting for some weird sort of filtered, symbolic representation of reality that fits their personal beliefs most comfortably. It seems all but impossible to convince an NT person they are wrong even when all the facts point to it, whereas people with ASD seem much more able to modify their own understanding.

Yes. It can be frustrating when you KNOW that the person is wrong and you KNOW it's going to screw them over but they just won't bloody accept reality.

Is this related to neuroplasticity, perhaps?

A quick look at google for that term and I can see how it could apply, but I'd need to do more research to really form an opinion.

People with too much self-esteem can seem to live inside their own world, because they do not fear of what other people think of them, so they can just use all their energy to dream.

Yes I thin their scope of the world is limited. Their radar is short range so they only worry about their immediate surroundings. But I suppose that is a generalisation. We seem to take too much on board and I wonder if that is why we get so overloaded whereas with the NT's ignorance is their bliss.

Not at all. There is no empirical evidence to support the claim that they are - only opinions.

See the title: Do you ever feel like NT people are less conscious?

The OP is specifically talking about opinions and perspectives, not about empirical evidence.

Yeah, if you are looking for an argument, you simply will not get one. I would be happy to discuss - and would welcome - any factual information to support or deny this feeling's validity, but I am merely asking if it is a shared one.

Brilliant.

Feelings and opinions prove nothing, and are therefore irrelevant.

Are your opinions and feelings irrelevant because they prove nothing? Maybe you've come to the wrong place

Irrelevant to what? I believe this statement to be irrelevant to this situation, considering that my initial aim was not to prove anything. You appear to be projecting your own intent upon mine. I do not like this. Get your words out of my mouth.
