Hi,
How common is it to feel the need to sleep in a confined space?

I have a headboard on my bed, but not a footboard. So, now usually I sleep the other way around, curled up with my feet pushing against the headboard. One day I may just buy a large dog basket and pad it out with blankets and sleep in there! :)

Is anyone else like this?

I'd hate it.

I need loads of space to move about freely in the night.

I get claustrophobic and sometimes very panicky, in a sleeping bag.

When I was a kid I would often sleep on the floor under my bed. I actually have slept in a dog cage once.

i recently switched rooms with my brother. now I have the smallest room in the house. I also got a smaller bed and have it up against the wall. I've been sleeping MUCH better this way...in this smaller space.

I don't really have a particular way of sleeping. I just get into bed and lay with my head on the pillow and my covers up to my shoulders. I usually lay on my side, but if it's too hot I lay on my back with my arms out the covers, and if it's extremely cold I sometimes lay on my tummy.

I sleep in a single bed, and for some reason I like to have a few teddies sitting by my pillow otherwise I feel lonely. Well, not lonely as in the same sort of loneliness you get from being away from people for too long. I meant the bed would feel empty if I didn't have any teddies next to the pillow.

There was a time last Summer when my audio sensitivity was so bad I could hear traffic going by all night even though I had earplugs in and pillows over my ears.. it was then that I thought it would be great to have a sensory deprivation sleep chamber like the one Ben Affleck sleeps in in the movie Daredevil. Check it out at the beginning of this music video:

But now? Things are so much better I haven't given this another thought. But I've been there and wished I could just hide away in something like this and get some oh-so-much needed rest!
