I am married to an Aspie. We didn't discover this until my son was diagnosed with aspergers about 5years ago. All the the clues and pieces led to our self diagnosisof my wife. I have had a hard time understanding and helping my wife and son. I am looking for a support group I can meet with, that can help me understand and help me meet the needs of my wife and son. Any one have a suggestion?

For online support, you probably can't do much better than this site. It's where I've picked up most of my info on aspergers.

Read loads of posts to try to pick up an idea of the aspie mindset, though always remember that "when you've met one aspie, you've met one aspie" :)

And feel free to ask questions here, and maybe suggest your wife reads the site.

It's good you've caught your son early.

You read this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1843106698/r ... ny+attwood

As for support groups to meet, I'll leave that for an american to answer.

WrongPlanet can sometimes work quite well if you don't particularly need a trained counsellor for a particular question or problem. There's the General Autism Discussion section you're on now, which also has the AS-NT Hotline thread as a "sticky" near the top of the main page, and the In-Depth Adult Life Discussion section can be quite good.

There was a face-to-face support group offered to me a few years ago in the UK, but I didn't take it up because of the likely strain an entire real-life social group would have on me, because I have social anxiety because of Aspergers. But I've been comfortable with real-life personal counselling when it's been just me, a partner and a counsellor, once I've got used to the counsellor. Just thinking that your wife might also have social anxiety like mine, though not everybody does.
