Have many of us with Aspergers considered pursuing vocations which could help others on the autistic spectrum?
Careers like psychiatrist, psychologist, therapist, writer, physical therapist, etc?
We would have birds-eye views and we would be inside the tent and looking out, rather than outside the tent and looking in.

I was a mental health counselor for about 12 years. Western Massachusetts, 80's through 90's. Dukakis funded, then Romney defunded.

I job coached a severely autistic young lady, among many other populations.

My low emotional temperature was an asset in the work. My specialty was bi-polar women - even w/ bleeding wrists I kept calm.

I would like to work with young people with special needs (special needs that affect the person severely). There is actually a day centre in my area where young people with special needs go to, who can't work and need care but somewhere to go in the day away from their parents or carers (unless urgently needing a carer 24/7) and you take them out on little day trips and stuff. I would like that, but I can't get in because they already have paid positions, although I could volunteer.

Also I wouldn't mind working or volunteering with elderly people with Alzheimer's, but are still high-functioning (not at the vegetable point yet). I find it rather interesting, and I would never take the piss of neglect them.
