Everyone in the spectrum has problems socialising and getting ideas out in some degree or another. I found that since I think in pictures most of the times my verbal "synchronised" translation is more than inaccurate to say the least.
My question then is, have you ever thought that if we had the ability for telepathy and thus been able to show others the pictures in our head and interact mentally in pictures you would be much, much better at communicating your thoughts and ideas? I know I would, in colossal proportions.

What would help me is the ability to download the entire concept and every association I am making to it to the other person so they get the whole picture in the detail that I'm experiencing.

I would suppose that would be possible with telepathy, I mean even the connections I make in my mind are of pictorial links.
Eventually I should think a sort of language would develop, one of symbols, notions, colour coding et cetera

With the advances in technology this could actually be possible eventually... We can already manipulate things like spheres to move around with only our thoughts and a 'headset', so imagine if that technology got perfected and we could translate images/maps or that kind of thing strait to a computer...

That would be wonderful! Unfortunately it would be 5-70 years away... Either way if some kind of technology came out to put our mental images onto a computer it would make life on the spectrum wonderful!

The potential this technology has is wonderful to think of... I have a thing for making 3D models (Specifically worlds) but often find it hard getting my ideas onto it... I could mentally make a 3D world in no time at all, it would make people on the spectrum the sought after modellers that's for sure!
Definitely a wonderful dream...

Oh, the times I've wished for this!

This is why I'm terrible at working in groups. I can usually come up with solutions to a problem WAY faster than the NTs of the group can thanks to that awesome visual thinking, but as far as translating it into verbal instruction, everything gets lost in translation. So I end up taking the lead and just DOING it. Thus, I am seen as having terrible teamwork skills. The slowpokes are 'left out' and I'm a big fat jerk. Poo.

To compensate for my lack of articulate verbal thought translation, I tend to gesture vigorously while talking, drawing shapes in the air and such. This also makes me look weird and eccentric, which has been pointed out plenty of times before. It's the best I can do, people! It's not my fault your brain is blind! >X(

I absolutely and most positively enjoy doing that, I also like just as much to go to a dark room, lie down, close my eyes and listen to music and enjoy the video in my head that spontaneously bursts rolling with barely any conscious decision on how it'll go. If only I could download them. What I have been thinking of doing is to get a voice recorder and while I listen and get to mentally see the video I'd also record some key words, ideas and as much as I can from the video, and since I am the only one that has to understand the references it is not as cryptic of a problem to make it into words.
Ditto, "Definitely a wonderful dream" :D

I definitely understand what you mean with the figures in the air, it gets really frustrating when one just cannot utter something that resembles more than just 20% of what one is actually thinking :Ugh!!: . Sometimes I think I ought to learn sign language, some things would be easier to express, problem is not everyone knows how to, but if they did it would certainly come in handy, no pun intended.

I cannot imagine what it would be not to think in pictures, be mentally blind. I wonder, how is it like?

Indeed... It would be so good at times! And also bad in other aspects...

Definitely a con to lose the creativity aspect and being able to imagine cool things in no time in your head.
On the other hand sometimes I seriously wish I could just shut my brain off... I can't stop it! I've often sat up all night imagining something in my head! (The last time I tried counting sheep I ended up mentally modelling a weird world on the moon...)

I would like to, I don't think in pictures all the time, but sometimes I need to explain what I see and it would be easier if they could watch my mind. However I don't think it would be possible, I've recently read a basic book about connectionism theory of thought, called "The Brain Shaped Mind", accoding to that theory every brain works different, every people "activates" different neurons when thinking in the same thing, the only thing in common is the area of the brain used (for example, visual area, language area) but we all have a different "encoding" of thoughts, so in order to read people minds you have to study and understand each brain, and even if you do it there is not garanty it works, because when people learn something new his brain can change.

Yes, yes, yes... The times I have wanted to telepathically comunicate, the times I have seen how to do something in my mind and been unable to communicate it, the times I feel exhausted and frustratedby the constant translation, the times my use of words are misunderstood...oh how I hate the problems causedby communication difficulties

I would want to show people the pictures in my head so that they could have a better idea of what my imaginary world is like. They would see how wonderful it is and why I spend so much of my time there.

Wow, that seems kind of depressing honestly...
I thought my brain could be terrible at times (Especially when trying to sleep!) but that just sounds.... Well, now I at least know how people can enjoy two and a half men!

(And thanks very much for that info! It's always good to learn a bit about how other peoples minds work.)

I have found the ONLY way to share how I envision the World is through Poetry. That I can put into words.
And be just as confusing to others as always!
I have though visually since I can remember. Is there any other way to think??!

Sincerely,
Matthew

Typing of spending time there, I have been meaning to actually be there, I have had some lucid dreams and if I could just master it I bet I could go every where I wanted, in fact my most happy memories have all been dreams, very pleasant dreams, it was like being in my head.
