Anger and panic feel the same to me - I've had panic attacks and anger attacks and they both feel the same......
and all my emotions seem scary, very strong and overwhelming.

I recently came off SSRIs after being on them for 7-ish years, so I think this has something to do with it as my emotions aren't being suppressed any more, but my emotions just feel alien to me.

Does anybody else experience this? and what do they do about it? and how do you just accept emotions and not avoid them?

I had similar problems a few years ago when on an opioid pain med due to a shingles out break. The med was causing me to have emotional bouts that did not feel like my own emotional bouts. It was really weird, because it felt so "not me." Once I realized the opioid was the culprit, I took myself off it as soon as I could handle the pain without it. I continued to have those "alien" emotional bouts for a week or two afterwards due to the withdrawal symptoms. This med also caused me to feel very woozy, dizzy, and left me staggering around the house. I was afraid of falling and hurting myself, and I live alone, so that would not have been good. I would prefer to avoid opioid meds in the future. This one was combined with Ibuprofin. I had previously used what I believe is the same opioid combined with Tylenol after cancer surgery. However, although that one left me woozy, dizzy, and staggering, it didn't do a thing for the pain, but did add to my EXTREME CONSTIPATION, which the meds I had been on in the hospital had caused. You do not want to have extreme constipation when your belly is held together with staples. It took about 3 or 4 months to get over the extreme constipation, even with taking a stool softener, and eating and drinking things that normally give me diarhial. I took myself off this opioid/Tylenol med as soon as I realised it wasn't going to help, and was making things worse. Fortunately I was staying with relatives for a while after my cancer surgery, so they could keep an eye on me.

I think you may be in withdrawal from the meds, and also not used to your old premed emotions yet. Give it some time.

I'm exactly the same way. I wrote a blog entry about it once. My theory is that I'm really feeling fear and it gets labeled as anger because it shows up in behavior similar to NT angry behavior.

I can be the same way sometimes. I think I just don't tolerate adrenaline very well. I've been considering taking lithium orotate because it's said to reduce epinephrine (adrenaline) and norepinephrine.
