leg/hand protection?
mostly just legs and hands.
because of being stressed, and autistic. i hit myself on legs . head , bite my hands, daily.
i tried going to sports direct for some decent leg guards, but they cover a small bit of leg. and they have a strap that you put around the back of leg, and the velcro is sharp and it stabs my leg i bought them, but i need to wear them all the time, but cant because the velcro stabs my legs, becuase i cant get it to attach to the soft part of the velcro fully because the strap dosnt strech that far, they are mens size but still to small , my legs quite skiny/odinary size, the only other thing they had were these big expensive cricket shorts that were literly unwearable.
is there any kind of shorts that have spongy padding? like to stop the hitting brusing?
my legs are realy realy bruised, i somtimes slap and punch my head to.
im being transferd to a "adult team" to get more support etc and it takes ages so im not getting any support/ therapy and i only used to get art therapy!! the special needs services department mentla health dont think its much of a issue i guess.

For legs you could try shin guards. I know you said you tried them. But you could try wearing socks underneath so the velcro isn't noticable. You would need to cut the foot part of the sock off so you could wear them on your thighs. Wear shin guards On both sides of your thighs and your shins. And wear black socks over them so they aren't seen by other people as clearly. The part of the shin guard that covers your heel to keep them in place would need to be cut off and it could be duck taped down to keep the frays away.
I know my idea isn't the greatest and is make shift but it is all I could think of and thought you should get a reply. To sum up wear socks on your thighs and legs, that way the velcro isn't as annoying. Then wear shin guards on your outer thighs and inner thighs and on your outer lower legs and inner lower legs. With shorts and long black socks or pants and black socks they shouldn't be too notable to other people.
My first idea is to have someone you know - or worst case, a tailor who needs to be paid for it - alter the fabric and size of those leg guards.
That way, the straps could be made longer by exchanging them and choosing a better material that you can tolerate on your skin.
A real tailor (someone who has learnt their profession) could also put a the underside of the padding area if that turns out to be uncomfortable during long-term wear due to skin-irritation from scratchy material or because the guards won't handle sweat.
They might even be able to exchange the inside of the padding for another material though having it all done at once might be costly. Unless you have the money for it, I wonder if there's way to get them paid by declaring that they're absolutely necessary because of your autism?
Other than that, I imagine you'd need to find a place that makes custom sized leg guards (usually for professional athletes). A tailor might be easier to find in your area however.
My last idea on this is that you (or someone you know who will do it for you if you can't go to unknown shops yourself) check local and online medical supply stores. I don't know whether they have anything like suitable leg guards however.
