Something I have been thinking a lot over the last recent months to the point that it really bug’s me.

Do we need someone who can speak for Autism and proper Autism Awareness in the UK? I think it would have to be someone who is Autistic themselves who has to do it. Who would be confident to lobby if there needs to be lobbying. Someone who would be happy to speak to local councils and politicians and even media on maybe making life a little easier for someone who is Autistic.

I personally think Britain needs a voice and I think Britain can do better in the way Autism is treated.

Yeah but are they doing enough? I don’t think so.

My mum has a friend who has 4 Autistic grandchildren who live in New Zealand and the way Autism is treated in New Zealand is far superior compared to the UK.

The NAS are doing an OK job but more needs to be done. I lived in Jersey channel Island and they have there own government they are not under British Government even the way Autism is treated is better than the UK. Example Doctors. You go to the Doctors over there what they do is take your number put your number into a file that when you ring the Doctors your number comes up on the system with Autistic Patient and they give you extra time to explain your problem on the phone. Something that could be done under NHS. That is just example amongst others.

I get disturbed when I hear local Autistic Charities say they are running out of money again, something needs to be done.

I know Autism isn’t necessarily classed as mental health but there is crisis in the UK that needs dealing with.

Not being diagnosed with autism led me to become suicidal, I went to therapy and no one even mentioned it was a possibility I always thought of Autism as a severe disability. I didn't even find out it was a possibility until I was in hospital after a suicide attempt.

Are they first gen? How is NZ different? It might be an anywhere but here syndrome. Jersey is basically a special place with diff powers. With the NHS it might depend where you are.

What is it you want to say? There are loads of voices.

Well I’ve not heard them. I have heard them I wouldn’t be posting this subject.

Jersey is not a place with special powers it just has a different government.

It is the government that I personally believe needs to be more aware.

It is hard for me to actually what I am trying to get at. Wording it is very hard. But it is in my thought.

But when I hear things like teachers getting children statemented by the local councils and they can’t do the statement due to lack of funds I find that disgusting this is where Awareness needs to be taken place. A lot of things can be done but funding is so low. Which is always the excuse. I really irritates me because I know government can fund things. I mean what was all about when we had the last election all these excuses of lack of funds and Theresa May gives over £billion to the DUP a £billion which the day before was not existent. Awareness and more funding is what I am trying to explain.

Then step up and be that voice.

Autism is too wide a spectrum for one person to be the voice for all autistics. Still the more #ActuallyAutistic voices there are the better.

True we need several voices. And yes I’d happily be a voice, now is to find out how. I do have a plan in mind.

Rather be doing something a bit more different, something a bit more radical. I think there is enough bloggers and video bloggers. Something that will get attention.
