Does anyone on WP have both these? Or think you MIGHT have them? Very curious about this phenomenon....
As for me- no, I don't believe I have either one. Just wondering who might?

I (THINK) I have both.

Of course, it would be challenged, so I usually stay shut about it.

I have synaesthesia...people with it are supposed to have a good memory, but mine's appalling. I'd just like to have some kind of good recall of at least some type!

The recent thread on memory on this forum made me realise I have a different type of exceptional memory - autobiographical. I also have mild synaethesia. I associate words and letters with colours - I can see them as colours sometimes. Nothing like as impressive as people I've seen in documentaries with this condition though.

Being able to remember so much is very useful. It gives me confidence to know when I'm right about something that's happened. The synaethesia, well I have it so mildly it doesn't really effect me. Just another quirk that people are usually interested in hearing about.

I have some form of photographic memory, that I am sure of. I do highly suspect that I have time-space synesthesia, and I'm pretty sure I have ticker tape synesthesia. And yes, I think that the synesthesia and exceptional memory are very much related. I've always found it natural to "chunk" or remember things by association/groups.

I have both of these. I have done artwork from memory after looking at something. I still have artwork around here that was done from memory. Strangely enough, if I loath a person enough, I can actually remember what he or she looks like and do a cartoon character that looks like that person without even looking at this person.

I also have Synesthesia and more specifically Personification Synesthesia. I gave my objects souls, personalities and names in which I have a close relationship with. I see people, animals, articles of clothing and other objects in designs that look like pebbles in my linoleum or something else. I also do artwork where objects, say for instance electric tape machines, is seen as something completely different, such as sperm swimming through a vagina.

:!: I do find your descriptions of the affects of these "differences" AMAZING!
I agree with you, yellowtamarin, that to have both would be amazing- actually, I think you would have memory that was beyond belief if you knew how to control everything to serve you well.
I THINK I'd like to have both-well controlled- too!
I hope to see further replies as well....more please?... :D
