So, I was youtubing progressive relaxation - the idea being I could relax during the day or something and reap whatever benefits that has. But I actually ended up drifting off the sleep at about 8pm after finding this video.

The video is a little odd, but I went from not wanting to sleep to being just very ready to sleep and just rolled over and got some actual sleep after the video ended. So I wanted to post in case it's useful to others :)

PS: Feel free to post anything that helped you.

Very good.
You'd probably also find Kristen Neff interesting and helpful, I have her book, as well as her course of CD's for developing self compassion.

Tryptophan...

The body doesn't make it so it is non addictive.

Far as I know, it has no side effects.

Never heard of that one. Generally not a fan to medicate if there are other options. That's just me though.

Had a look at the videos on there. I can see why the original link made you think of that, doesn't seem such an odd vid now. But it's still a bit odd lol.

Another really great way to fall asleep is to mix dried hops and dried lavender in a cloth sachet and put it in your regular pillow like in your pillowcase. The hops are super great at relaxing the nervous system and the lavender is very relaxing too. It was very common for people who worked in beer breweries to not be able to stay awake while they were working.

I will look at the video you posted too. I can't look at a video at this moment because I have a bit of a headache but I am very interested in seeing it.

I found reading works at times, I just end up putting the book on my bed and snoozing. But you need a book for that lol
