Do any of the rest of you have this problem?

I am good at memorizing facts, and I am somewhat creative.

I am very visualy creative.I like to take things apart and put them back together in a visually interesting way,but I am lousy at making up stories.

I have major memory problems.....when I try an "access" names or numbers....I go blank(when I am not trying, they sometimes pop into my head,so I know the info is in there but I cant access it.I would love to have gone into the sciences but you need to remember long latin names and formulas....dang my broken brain.I am better at remembering pictures and "general concepts" but then sound like an idiot when I cant remember the authors name or the % of something I am trying to quote.

I'm not creative at all. I seem to be impulsively creative with words, probably just because I'm socially weird, and sometimes mechanics but anything else I am terrible with. I am so uncreative, that I usually can't decide what the next thing I will do is at home when i probably have hundreds of undiscovered options and I just end up on the comp all the time as a result. Creativity is a big problem for me.

It depends. I'm good at memorising things but not perfect. If it somehow turns my mind on, I can be creative in my own way.

Memorizing facts is a strength of mine. I don't think of myself as particularly creative.

I am definitely good at memorizing facts but I wouldn't consider my creativity as being similar. I would consider myself relatively clever but not creative.

I'm very creative when it comes to making up cartoon characters and fantasy worlds. I'm not creative at all when it comes to solving problems.

Krex,

That is a COMMON problem, even for NTs!

LovingmyAspie,

If by creative, you mean artistic, it ISN'T common. I wish it was!

I'm also creative when it comes to writing poems. I've also been told by many people that I have very interesting ideas, and prespectives on things such as pop culture, as well as ideas for stories. As I said elsewhere, my parents compliment me on both my analytical skills and my imagination. However, on this standardized mental flexibility test, I could learn a string of numbers by rote easily, but when I had to flexibly re-arrange them, my performance detered. Then again, I won $70 in a game of Scrabble against a professional copywriter and a good editor. Chances are this probably took a unique combination of good rote memory and (verbal) mental flexibility.

Memorizing facts isnt not something I can do, but I dont care - memorizing is not understanding and understanding coincidentally leads to memorizing (well, not exact dates but the knowledge is easier to manage if you own it).

Creativity is something I do enjoy - I like using it for humour and different ways to attack a problem

I'm very good at creativity, but not so good at memorizing stuff. I'll be making a point in a discussion, and forget who said something important. Sucks.

I've always been pretty good at memorizing things, especially numbers. Creativity OTOH... nope, I'm pretty boring. My mind definitely prefers routine, facts, rules, etc.

I can memorize facts pretty well. I used to be more creative, but I feel I lost my creativity somewhat.
