Diagnosis over skype?

So I've been looking into possibly getting a diagnosis for AS, and I've been emailing a couple of people, and one of them said that they diagnosis by giving a questionnaire to you and a family member to fill out, and then they have a meeting with you over skype? I don't really know much about the diagnosis process, but I kind of assumed it would be in person. Has anyone else had any experience with this? Is it just as accurate to get a diagnosis over skype as it it in person? Is it worth $360 to do the whole thing over skype or should I look somewhere else? Very unsure about this whole thing in general, don't really know what to expect...

Don't do it, sounds like a scam to me.

Tell them you'll mail a check to them. If they give you an address report it to the police or give it to the major psychiatry association in your country and let them deal with it. There's no f*****g way this is legit. Here dude let me DX you over skype, I'll do it for $300, let me me just print up an ADOS real quick that I got from the WP link. I'm joking but you get my point.

It does sound a bit shady. I would be worried that if I had to use that diagnosis for some serious purpose, like obtaining services or SSDI/SSI, that it wouldn't be accepted as a 'proper' assessment (and then you'd have to do it all over again).
What you said right there is why people are desperate enough to fall for this s**t. There have been a lot of people who unemployment benefit ran out in the past year. They still can't find jobs and they're desperate for money so they are applying for SSDI. These people will pay these DX mills because a legitimate doctor wouldn't give them a DX. This exact same think goes on with medical marijuana prescriptions and the mills that have been set up around the industry. Dispensaries and judges know who these people are and a lot of them lose their licenses. I don't much give a crap about about people getting MJ recs because I think it should be legal but scum bags who prey on people desperate for money to feed and shelter the kids is another story. That DX isn't worth the paper it's printed on.
