I just received the DX for AS a few weeks ago.During the DX process,I told my parents that the therapist may need to ask them questions about my childhood.My mom,suprisingly,said that they would help with what information they could.However,the DR didnt seem to need their impute?He seemed to think it was obvious enough that I had AS,though I still have some doubts.
I cant seem to bring myself to tell them about the DX.I want to email them some links that would help them understand "what it is" but the ones from Wikipidia make it sound like people with AS love trainschedules,are genusis or have temper tantrums....none of that applies to me.Are their any other links that people can suggest that give a broader view of AS?....My parents are intelligent people but very leery of "psychology" and psycho babble.Another reason they may be "resistant" to my DX is that I have a non-biological brother who I also think has a lot of aspie traits.What are the odds that someone with an AS son would adopt an AS child......I know lightening can strike the same place twice but the odds seem against it.
