These professionals acts like they never even heard of the word autism, though one mental health center say they give bipolar evaluations. It's no wonder that these mental health professionals thought I was just a nutjob when I took a series of tests within the past 20 years trying to find some answers again. I always knew from early childhood with the threat of being put in a mental institution, that I was really different. The mental health professional, brought up Alheimers and a few other conditions associated with older people. I told her nothing like that with me giving her some of my traits and she started giving me names which one I've already call just to get an answer "no we don't do Autism Evaluations".

I found this article most interesting, especially since I did so much research as to what I was about. What do the rest of you think about it?

These sentences in bold really caught my attention.

Are you talking about the article here, or the people you have met?

About the article: I don't find anything wrong with it, since it says "copyright 2008", it seems perfectly legit.

About 2-4 years ago, Asperger wasn't even in the textbooks in school. So unless professionals keep themselves updated, most won't even have heard about it. The knowledgebase of Autism is indeed in its infancy.

I'm talking about the mental health professionals I talked to today on the phone.

As for the article, I was really happy to find it because it confirms what I've been saying for about 2 or 3 years now and that is finding out that I have symptoms of Autism, because these professionals I've had to deal with in my town just look at me as a nutjob. I trust the articles I have read a lot more than these so called health professionals in my town.
