Hi guys.
What tips do you have for stopping doing something.
Specifically, right now, I can't stop reading this forum. But I need to get things ready for going to work (such as ironing cloths) and I need to go to sleep.

Do you practice making schedules or something else for when it's time to go do housechores etc. What works for you?

I sometimes try setting a time, like, say, "at 2:30, I'm getting off of here". The trick is sticking to that.

Set multiple alarms around you to go off at the same time that you need to get off the forums. That should help a little.

I'm constantly on WP too. I go through my most recent posts to see if anybody has replied, only to realise I am still the last one who posted in each thread, then go on to general Autism discussion and see if any new threads have popped up, only to realise they're still the same sorts of ones there, then I find one I have missed and reply, then perhaps quickly pop on to Facebook but nothing there has changed either, then I go back on to WP and go on to my recent posts again and still find my posts are still the last in each recent thread, then I go back to general autism discussion, then I go on to the haven but still see the same threads there, then go on to another topic but still see the same threads there, and then I don't know whether to break the cycle by going on the Sims 2 but reluctant because can't be bothered to wait for it to take so long to load, so I go back over WP again.

I always used to cry if somebody brought AS up, I still hate AS today, and yet I am always reading and writing about it!

I think that NTs have this problem with internet also.

For me it's just like not being able to switch activities. For example if I start watching movies I cannot stop doing it and I watch one after another, especially with TV series it gets bad.
It is also bad with reading, I just can't stop until I finish the book.

But maybe NTs also have this.

I would prefer to have like one week to draw without disruptions, and then one week to read without disruptions etc.
I really hate to have to go sit in the office. But I need to have money.

NTs can have this problem. My mum said she ended up going to sleep late because she was reading a good book in bed and couldn't put it down. Also my cousin is into this Black ops whatever it is game thing that he just cannot get through eno evening without going on it.

Gah I wish I can stop coming to this forum too. Me having other things to do keeps me away from it and it takes over my life at home. I also go to other forums too and check them out and keep on doing it. Today I had a break away from the computer, I went to the post office and dropped something off and went to the bank to exchange coins for quarters and then I came home and folded clothes and cleaned the sink and toilet and washed the kitchen floor and came back on. I like being away from the computer.

I still stay up till like 3 or 4 in the morning because I have a hard time stopping what I am doing. But yet I have no problem when I have to get off to get ready for work and leave. I have even left posts unfinished. That is because I have a time limit for when I need to get off. But yet I can't seem to do that for bed time until it gets too early in the morning and I force myself to get off and go to sleep. But I still get five or six hours of sleep and that is good.
