I wouldn't call myself addicted, but I am on the computer, for one purpose or another, most of my waking hours. I even went to school and got a degree in computers, and spent the last 10 years working in Network Administration :-)

I spend a lot of time my my computer (my best friend). I compose music with it (I use Cubase). I edit music with it (I use Sound Forge). I play Fallout: New Vegas on it. I surf the internet with it. So, yeah, I spend mucho hours with it every day. Is that addiction? I don't have a clue.

Taught myself how to program when 8 was 11, that was 30 years ago; now I'm a software
developer/manager for a large Canadian bank. So I'd say yes.

My computer feels like a seamless extension of my brain :) That's how you know that the operating system has excellent user interface..
..but I've been using them since kindergarten, and it's hard to imagine being without.. (Though sometimes I can go a few days without using it.) I say that like it's some great accomplishment :? I'm a loser

I'm not sure I would I'm addicted, but I do spend most of the day on mine for one reason or another. Right now it's between 6-10 hours per day, although it goes up to a minimum of 12 during the summer because of my writing. I could go a couple weeks without it, though, if I wanted to.
Is it bad that, if I had to choose between my best friend's health and my computer, I would choose my computer's safety every time?

I'm not necessarily addicted, but I do spend a lot of time on the computer. There's just so much to do on it...you pretty much have access to the entire accumulation of human knowledge, as well as music, T.V., movies, pictures of cute cats....videos of cute cats....news articles on cute cats....what more could a person dream of?!

Actually, nearly everyone I know are into computers. Where I come from, you are ''abnormal'' if you don't own a computer. People use computers all the time. Society is ran on computers these days. People use them to go on ebay, shop online, go on Facebook, go on Youtube, Google search things they want to know, and much, much more. It is even mainstream to like computers these days. Perhaps it's different in America, but over here, if you say to someone that you like computers, people will look upon you as ''cool''.

I think ''Autistics liking computers'' is just a stereotype these days.

Is true. I'm neurotypical and I like computers. I practically carry my laptop around everywhere I go. So does my boyfriend.

There is more to being neurotypical than sitting around gossiping 24/7.
