And NT type people would be rare, would we be more tolerant towards them then they are now to us?

With rigid adherence to rules, and some rare people not playing by our rules..nah, we would have been as bad or worse. Unwritten rules would be written, and they would have official repercussions.

I don't believe in superior species. But I would say Aspergers comes close. Because I'm a spiritual person, I do believe that there is a deeper reason to why WE have aspergers than "random genetics". We have traits that I believe make us special, unique, and worthy of both success and acceptance. We deserve to be looked upon not as freaks who aren't "normal", but as princes among men. Though with great power, success, authority, which ever, comes great responsibility. If we are a dominant species, then what ever spiritual being that has given us this gift would expect us to use it wisely and to act out of fairness and kindness. Each of us is a king in our own right, figuratively ofcourse. And a king may deserve praise, but whether he is kind and understanding or greedy and prideful makes a difference. As King Solomon said, a king's thrown is secured by kindness and understanding. If the time comes where people would hear the word Aspergers and think of us as we deserve to be, we shouldn't go around like highschool jocks, acting like we own the place and we can do anything we want, bullying around anyone who isn't as smart, as athletic, as popular as us.

We wouldn't.

I see enough AS people asserting superiority over NTs to know that it would turn into another form of oppression. The peaceful among us are too peaceful to go against the aggressive, just like in NT society.

On the flipside, though, I can assume that we would be a LITTLE more smooth running of a society, with fewer mistakes as people are dumped into jobs that perfectly suit them. But then, we would be cruel, unbalanced, and inexperienced in the more unpleasant aspects of life, and that would drag us down.

AS people tend to be better at specific things than NT people are, and often have high intelligence to boot. We would look down upon them as an inferior species, and their inability to understand things would push them so far below the bottom of society that they'd pretty much become slaves. I don't like the idea.

If NTs were a minority, I think they'd actually do a better job at trying to be like the AS majority than the AS minority does at being NT in the real world.

Oh, it would be very draining and taxing on them, yes. Their "meltdowns" would seem like highly illogical, emotionally-fueled tantrums. But I actually believe they'd fair better, as I would assume an AS-dominant society would ideally prize individuality, and as individuals, NTs would be free to be who they are. In the real world, no matter how much people talk about the ideal of individualism, it seems Neurotypical Land is arranged around groupthink.

I wonder if NTs, being the social creatures they are, would simply form their own little social clubs in the AS-world. Many Aspies would probably see them as a cute novelty instead of creepy. Example: "My girlfriend's got that NT disorder. Yes, she can be weird and overly emotional and makes little sense, but it's so cute."

I think they'd have it easier if the roles were divorced.

I suspect that if Aspies ever come to outnumber NTs, the world would become a very boring, passionless place...

It's ludicrous to think of people with AS as being a separate species.

I believe the correct term would be Variety. Even though varieties are normally geographically different.
But I think everyone got the point anyway.

Well I do not think people with autism are a separate species...but I imagine if we ended up being the majority we'd be normal and neurotypicals wouldn't. But the likely hood of people with a certain disorder taking over to that extent is kinda low in my opinion.

You should read Darwin again :D

In evolution, the ugly duckling, sometimes grows in becoming a beautiful swan. In other words, the probability of some disorder (=mutant) taking over, is 100%. The question is, it will be us?
