Regarding my previous thread about Amisulpride making me more sociable, it wasn't the Amisulpride, it was caffeine.

Caffeine made me social, chatty, funny and even expressive to a degree.

Now that I have vastly reduced my caffeine intake I am back to my Asperger's self.

To be honest I'm relieved as the social bit was exhausting.

I'm back to my normal self :)

Does anyone else get this effect with caffeine?

I just get really stimmy. The adrenaline makes me more impulsive, and it makes my mind race....so I think more....not great for socializing as I start lecturing.

Caffeine doesn't change me much at all, it just makes me talk faster and then I'm like gahhhhh I need to talk slower and then I do

that might account for why I become an energy drink/caffeine junkie while working. I thought I just needed the stimulant to do it all, but it would be interesting if this were studied scientifically. (not exactly holding my breath -- drug companies can't patent caffeine)

I get loopy without caffeine, I can drink 3 to 6L of diet Coke a day. If I pound a couple of energy drinks I tend to overshoot and become all Cornholio

Instead of drinking a couple of drinks near each other, spread them out.

for me, the key is to put the caffeine in a beverage and consume it over time. I've also used Green Tea diet pills -- again a measured amount. I like the ones that recommend a dosage of multiple tablets, and generally take one at a time with hours in between.

Caffeine makes my heart beat faster. Sometimes it makes my thoughts clearer too, and I like coffee milk, so I have a routine for enjoying it... I don't think it makes me more social, though.

Caffiene tends to make me chattier, which is notable because I'm normally very un-chatty. It started started giving me really bad stomachaches, though, so I don't touch it anymore. It also increased my anxiety level which was bad.

I've been on neurontin lately, and it has a similar effect except that it seems to achieve it through decreased anxiety (seems similar to how alcohol can make me more talkative).

Caffeine, I think, gives me delirium. I've been drinking about 2 energy drinks a day for a few years and I've had severe mental deficiencies. When I take a break my mental abilities return to normal. Recently, after I had psychosis from marijuana, caffeine has been making me psychotic. It's like taking heroin or something.

Yeah, you're probably smart to cut back on the caffeine. Anything that forces you to be more energetic like that will just increase your stress level and set you up for burnout. The energy has to come from somewhere, doesn't it?

Still, all things in moderation; caffeine can be helpful. Just not too much of it--whatever "too much" means for you.

Caffeine makes me more anxious and more irritable and makes interacting with people more difficult for me as my mind is racing away in its own little world more than it does without caffeine. That
said, on a day when im struggling to focus a can of coke in the afternoon can help me get through my work because my brain works faster, as long as I block out other stimuli (including colleagues).

Amisulpride HAS lowered my anxiety and made my socialising a bit better.

no effect whatsoever. this appears to be genetic, as it's the same for everyone in my family.

Coffee tends to make me really tired. Sugar as well. But it isn't normal tired, it was like the first time I took a sleeping pill (boy that ended well with face down the toilet), my whole body was asleep but my brain wasn't.

If I start ingesting large amounts of caffeine, I get hyper, if I keep ingesting large amounts of caffeine I quickly develop a tolerance.
