Once I was on anti-psychotics, medication that is usually antagonistic of dopamine activity, and I ended up being more disinhibited than ever in social relations. Now, was that an extension of my personality, or is it related to AS?

People with AS are known to be disinhibited - not knowing boundaries in conversation - so, I'm wondering, could it be that they have some kind of dopamine deficiency, considering the actions of dopamine antagonists?

(To further delve in this philosophically, if dopamine modulates pleasure would it imply that people with AS possibly don't feel pleasure in conversation and that would be the reason they try to continually go over boundaries, in an effort to locate pleasure?)

I like sertaline, a SSRI which has some reuptake inhibition of dopamine, as well as of serotonin.

I know that when I monologue about my special interest it's largely induced by the boredom I feel with the topics of conversation brought up by the other person/people during our socializing.

Dopamine is pretty complex. It's related to inhibition though, among many other things.

For example, when somebody with ADHD takes a stimulant, they get more dopamine being produced in their frontal lobe, which helps increase their ability to inhibit their behavior, which makes them less impulsive, more able to think before they act. Apparently. I'm not entirely sure how much of that is theory and how much has been proven--but that's the idea.
