Does anyone else have this, please? It's nothing to do with hunger. I just seem to have this need to constantly chew. :?

When I was younger I used to chew on a lot of things. For example the rings off the screw top bottles, tie-raps after they have been cut off. I think it was stress re leaving. But it was one of the stims I left behind.

<_<
I only want to chew on straws. My cup is always the one with the flattened straw end. I usually don't let myself chew on straws without a cup attached because I will chew the stupid thing into oblivion every time. I'll chew a straw until it's all sharp points and edges and I can chew no more without hurting my mouth. That may be my most random sensory stim and is almost certainly my worst stimming habit.

I have a bad oral fixation.

As a child I constantly chewed on ribbons of my dresses, pencils, etc. as an adult I still suck my thumb, I was a smoker, I sucked on pens at work, and I have constant cravings to bite people I'm with...most of my boyfriends in the past have had to put their foot down to biting fingers as I've occasionally caused damage from biting them :?

My wife likes to bite me, but I'm weird about it. I like it, but I have serious sensory issues with it.

Back on topic... Why no I don't chew on things, that's disgusting! (Typed while chewing on a pen cap...)

Yeah, I am a chewer, especially when I am nervous. I bite my nails, chew my fingertip skin, chew pens and caps, straws, and used to chew pencils, cups and hoodie strings when I was but a wee lad in grammar school. (Yet my mom says I don't stimm...)

I used to chew on toys, pens, etc. when I was much younger, but I mostly kicked the habit. I also chew ice occasionally (but nowhere as much as I used to - it's not good for the teeth)

Yes, i chew, & I like to touch my lips to things. It is something Not to do in public - I have it under control, mostly. Still, if I'm stressed, it happens anyway.
It helps to keep carrot and celery sticks stocked in the frig, as it is better than non-food items, so that's what I do.
