So when I was very young (7-10), I had a problem with self-management. I recall on one occasion where I did not shower/bathe for a month plus. (It eventually became progressively better, as I would then only fail to shower for extended periods of time intermittently; e.g., two weeks, one week, a few days, etc.) I came to the conclusion that I smelled of "mushrooms," whether that's accurate or not. It's what I still say today when I go without showering or bathing, etc. It was a gag-worthy smell, but I was all right with it. I "understood" that it was gag inducing, but I grew to enjoy it.

What's the longest you've ever embraced your lack of self-management? And what did you discover out of it?

I'm not dxed.

When I was a kid I would go months with out showering or bathing. I would wash my hair, but that was it. I hated showers because I didn't like all the water hitting me everywhere, especially in my face.

I would say I didn't start showering daily until I really couldn't get away with it. So like during the summer in college, grad school, and after going to the gym I had to learn to deal with it. And then during the winter, not until grad school. Now I will still skip if I think I can get away with it. I hate them still and I'm too impatient for a bath. But I work out almost everyday, so the world is safe for now, lol.

I went through that at about the same age. Didn't make any discoveries, but I had plenty of time to read.
