So, we're pretty well known for our heightened senses. I've always had thing where I can sort of "sense" hormones/pheromones...like, it's somewhere between taste, smell and "sixth sense". I can tell when my female friends are ovulating because the smell of estrogen is so strong, I have to leave the room, and when I am attracted to somebody I can really smell their testosterone and it drives me wild.

Just wondered if I'm alone in this or potentially crazy xD

I don't have a great sense of smell, unless it's my own B.O.... then, I smell it when no one else does.
but hearing... I can hear base ... and feel the vibrations.... when no one else can. and it keeps me up at night. no fun

It's probably not literally hormones so much as biochemical changes caused by hormones.

I can smell other females on their "cycles"

I can also identify who a piece of clothing belongs to by scent.

and I very much associate smells with the 1st location I smelled it in(or in some cases where the smell was strongest). So when i smell that scent I immediately think of said place.

I also do this with songs, when I was little I would read Nancy Drew books in the summer while my mum slept(she worked nights) and listen to Oldies tunes(namely the Beach Boys CD I had, but Often a oldies radio station) and when I hear certain songs, I'm actually brought back to the specific page of the book I was on. TOTALLY USELESS information to remember but it's not like I chose to memorize these things, it just happens

why does the smell of ovulating females bother you? i can smell something similar, but i don't get why it would make someone leave the room.

I can't sense hormones that I can tell, but when the other women in the office are on their period, I have to use a different restroom. The blood smell can be so thick it's nauseating.

The smell of fresh blood doesn't bother me, but that blood just repulses me.

I'm not sure, it's just a very strong, overpowering smell. It's sickly sweet but musty at the same time. I think it's maybe a primal reaction, since I'm not attracted to women? I'm not sure.

Rarely smell anything. But if I get my nose right up a woman's skin, wow, what fun.

I hasten to add that's a pretty rare experience for me though.

I'm not really sure.. I have gotten confirmed my suspicion about someone just had sex in a room I entered. No visual cues, only the smell. So I can smell when sex has just been had..kinda. If it's the wild hormones/pheromones being released during sex I smelled, or if it was bodily fluids, I do not know.

I have also smelled someones period at times, but I suspect that has been when they have been less than hygienic down there.

I often smell when females are on their period. Also, with the people with whom I've been in relationships, part of what drew me in was their smell - not their perfume or anything, but just their smell.

Um, no, I can't. My sense of smell is pretty weak, I have a sinus problem so it will always make me very weak in my nose.

The natural stuff never bothers me, even when it is strong. I definitely notice and identify people by smell and often use smell to "read" things about a person but I don't find it offensive (with a few exceptions). However, people that drench themselves in cologne, especially musky stuff, GAG!! I do have to leave the room in these cases. I also sometimes find a certain natural "sweet" smell on men quite attractive.
