I believe in "Discovery": We are Aasimar

Look, I'm going to be frank with you. We have, in our generation, Aubrey de Grey talking candidly of Robust Human Rejuvenation, Juan Enriquez speculating that we are witnessing first-hand the evolution of our species: homo evolutis (extreme dietary systems, too-much-information, gene reinforcement, (research) chemicals). Transhumanism is now a viable philosophy. And with the DSM-5, regardless of the bankruptcy of "evidence" in American psychology, we will see a more thorough-going analysis of "Asperger's Syndrome" in terms of a "severity-based" system within the concept of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).
I think that we, as aspies, have a decision to make. Our decision, ultimately, may determine the trajectories of "posthuman discovery." (Moreover, I have a slew of other questions to throw at the topic, chief of them being: How do you, NT, expect me to obey your industrial-capitalist legal system when, for all intents and purposes, such a legal system cannot even viably assess the nature of my intent, someone who is nearly inscrutable, cognitively, to that system. I was put in jail months back, and I cannot understand why. My legal system attempted to "correct" me, but all it did was induce depression and ruin my career as a Web Developer, and a very highly sought after Web Developer in Texas. Or the other point: I will never play futball for the United States. Why should I obey these laws when they do nothing for me except harm? For all intents and purposes, I believe there is a set group of aspies who are "above law.")

Most obviously the main issue here is choice. For aasimar "being outcasts among their peers during their formative years and being given a significant amount of strange attention from the superstitious" results in, ultimately, the lack of choice in the matter, indeed. When {naturally} one is primed, either through social muteness (being able to focus on details rather than human interaction, be those details linguistic or scientific or what have you) or through one's ability to harness stimming in such a way as to outperform neurotypicals in sporting activities, for enhancement, how at all should it be perceived as a difficult choice for an Aspie? The natural abilities for Aspies offsets them socially and cognitively. -- When I play futball, my finger-flip in order to "release" (or rather regulate) the quantity of stress produced over time which is induced directly from my playing futball, which enables focus, precision, and quite simply, excellence.
To the point:
"Aasimar are also quite preceptive, noticing things that others do not..." is stated in the Forgotten Realms supplementary guide. More --
"Even those raised by understanding parents cannot escape their strangeness, or the curiosity [(or even fear) that their unique nature sometimes results in. Many aasimar are even prejudiced against, something that deeply hurts the soul of the aasimar in question since most have an inherent bend towards empathy for others." -- Obviously. More --
"Nearly all aasimar are uncommonly beautiful and still, and they are often significantly taller than humans as well." --

I am happy with Attwood and Gray's notion of discovery. But in this era, in our time, what we are discovering are the existence of aasimar. I'm not joking with you. Imagine the intersection of ASDs and the 577R gene, what do we discover when we find aspies who not only expression clinical signs but possess the 577R gene?

No way! We're totally extradimensional aliens! It's obvious; how could you not see it?!

There are a few holes in this theory. I've quoted them above.

I had an important decision to make this morning. It was
"Should I get out of bed now and not be late for my volunteer job, or sleep for another 17 hours like I really want to?"

It is only partly a "theory": chiefly it is all at once a decision, a prediction, and a principle.

I almost played an Aasimar, but chose instead to play an Astral Deva but with green skin much like that of the Planetar.
I never cared for the Aasimar level shift. I usually stick to the common humanoid races.
I'm currently playing a Human Dragonborn Fighter/Crusader. At Level 8, I have used the Divine Surge numerous times and rolling 8 d8s in addition to your normal attack is quite effective at blowing away the competition
