So I started having this weird symptom recently and I want to know whether anyone can relate to it. Basically I sometimes have thoughts that make no sense, or I'll randomly repeat thoughts that I have. Here's a list of some of the things I've noticed:

1) Unintelligible thoughts: Sometimes a thought will pop into my head that makes no sense. For example, this morning I woke up thinking the phrase "Blinor Slinor's bear with bath scents."
2) Thoughts that I think out of nowhere: Lately I keep randomly thinking the phrase "I'll always love you." I think it at the most random times and it usually has nothing to do with what I had been thinking about previously. It's kind of like how a song gets stuck in your head but you have no idea how it got there.
3) Repeating thoughts: I'll occasionally repeat a thought in my head to the point where it seems like I can't stop thinking it. For example, I'll think something like, "I'm thirsty. I'm thirsty. I'm thirsty. I'm thirsty." In my case this seems to be OCD-related in that it mostly happens when I'm worried about it happening.
4) Echoing thoughts: Related to number three, sometimes my thoughts have an echo to them. Again, it mostly happens when I'm worried about it happening.

Does anyone have any idea what causes this? I looked up this issue and the closest thing I could find was something called thought disorder. But it seems with thought disorder that the person doesn't only think these thoughts, but also speaks them aloud without noticing anything weird about it. I definitely don't say these thoughts aloud.

I'll also add that I've been on sertraline for a couple months, which seems to have made these kinds of thoughts more frequent.

Anyway, thanks for reading. Just wanted to post this to see if anyone knows what I am talking about!

I'm not on any meds, but I do something similar. Very frequently. Some of my most common repeated thoughts is the word (which isn't really a word) "Bunge," as well as hearing "Spanglish" a lot. O.o That last one I'll have to catch myself before saying. It's like a powerful need to get it out of my mouth. *shrug* Sometimes it's random sounds that don't make any sense like "kechak kechak ajuba jaba booji booji." I will say them out loud when I get home and when I'm away from others just to get them out, often without thinking. It's so frequent that even my 3 year old daughter has started saying "booji booji" to the cats. My wife has commented in the past on the "weird sound effects" I make when I'm doing other things, but I'd always thought it was common among other people. I'm suspecting it might be some type of vocal stim in my case.

It isn't often that I have coherent sentences play out in my head repeatedly, but that does happen on occasion--especially when I first wake up in the morning.

I have weird repeating thoughts too. I think it's either normal or an AS thing.
