It occurs to me that Temperance Brennan from the show Bones might make a good Aspie role model. To my knowledge, it never says that she is, but she seems to fit a lot of the social impairments, etc.

What do you think?

Any other role models from today's media?

I know there are a lot of great scientists, musicians, etc, who are / were Aspie, but a more visible role model may have more impact for kids.

Albert Einstein.

I don't realy think it even matters that he's not alive anymore. The simple fact that you can say his name in a crowd of 500 people; with 499 knowing who it is, simply proves that he can serve as a role model for aspies.

I would like to see some role models that are

a) a real person, not a fictional character

b) confirmed to have Aspergers (not some historical figure who we think probably had it)

Ludwig Wittgenstein.

Every stupid, illogical NT utterance known to man he put to the white hot coals.

He may have been more ADHD....

Tom Hanks? Ellen Degeneres?(renegades lol)

Its funny with 'Bones'
The shows named after her and stuff, and shes the central character, but shes sort of an anti-hero....an object of strangeness and humour..... sometimes the show is barely about her..............................................rather than her being a true classical heroine star, shes more of a joke at times.

Desperate Housewives and Wife swap USA are on TV 2nite, woohoo!

I'm not an expert on ADHD, but if:
Quote:
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a condition which causes its sufferers to have extreme difficulty focusing, paying attention and controlling their behavior.

then I'm not sure how it could be suspected that Albert Einstein could have had ADHD. I would think he would have had to have been very focused and paid a lot of attention to detail , to what he was doing, and to what had gone before!(?)
