Anyone else find babies and little kids unbearably annoying?

Before a kid is 6 or 7 I find them intolerable to be around. They are arrogant, loud, messy, they stink, they think they know everything, and I find them annoying.

Anyone else agree?

Yes. Not only between the ages of 0 to 7 but also between the ages of 7 and 100.

No. I find that babies and little kids are a joy to have around. Once they get to be around 7, I find that a lot of them start to become bullies towards people who are different.

I cannot stand children. The fact that they are loud and always seem to have some nasty and often adhesive substance on themselves constantly only adds to the annoyance.

^haha, yep. They are also irrational and cannot be reasoned with. However they are at an age where bribery can work well.

Playing a game of "international relations" does work well!

I do not hate children. However, the loud shrill noises babies & toddlers can emit can cause me to unravel completely. Especially in close proximity. I get nervous if little kids are in my store!

Sincerely,
Matthew

I dislike kids. Their screaming pierces right through my ears and it's just painful. Urrgghh.

I'm going to be an auntie soon and I really don't know how I feel about it. I know it'll be family and all... but meh. I don't want to hold it or babysit. I don't know how to react or relate or communicate with children. I feel nothing when I see one. Maybe I'll be okay if it's family... I don't know.

Agreed. Can't stand kids of any age, and I most certainly don't find babies cute at all. One of the reasons I broke up with my last gf was that I couldn't stand her 8 year old son; of course she never knew this.

I don't like children period. Babies are just worse than the rest.

I don't really HATE little kids, but when they don't act so cute I find it hard to cope while their parents do nothing because they think everyone else has to put with the tantrums and screeching and whining and making everything they touch sticky or broken. And then there are the teenagers... the snarling, spitting, cursing, smoking, vandalizing, littering, eye-rolling, acne-encrusted, know-everything teenagers. I didn't get along with them when I was a teen myself and I sure don't now. Even as a kid I always enjoyed being around seniors and find I am most relaxed around people at least in their forties and up. When I turn 40 I'm going to make myself a t-shirt that says Never trust Anyone UNDER 40, ha. :P

Another thing about little kids that makes me very uneasy is that they can puke suddenly and without warning right in the middle of everyone and everything. When that happens I have to leave as quickly as possible, as what has been seen and smelled cannot be unseen or unsmelled. :pale:

I find little kids under the age of 7 to be okay, they are sometimes cute and they usually listen to you if you're much older than them. But one age group that I find very troublesome is guys between age 10-15 where it just seems that kids around that age are just rebellious and stubborn.

Intolerable? Most definitely. Kids are shrill, they scream and squeal at almost anything, they cry too much and they always seem dirty, they can be so mean, and they often stare at you for ages.
It's difficult to converse with a child, because you see their mind wandering in a different direction. It's difficult to play a game with a child, such as board games for example, since they need to be taught and often don't seem to want to learn.

But mostly it's the way some parents choose to raise their children that annoys.
Occasionally you'll meet a well behaved child that likes to learn & listen, but I find that pretty rare.

A relative came around 3 months ago and brought all her Grand-kids with her, about 4 of them + one of their friends, they must have been around 7-10 and the entire hour they were here, they were all standing around a cell phone. That certainly was not what I was doing with my time in the early 90's.

I am an aunty with two nephews. when they are at my house they are ok for most part, but the younger one has rather irritating habit of screaming whenever he wants attention.

so I don't hate children, I just hate the loud noises they make.

I don't hate kids, just the high-pitched noises they make. Nobody I talk to understands why this irritates me, but they're able to tune out the noise - I can't.
