I have this weird habit that whenever someone says something, I kind of count the syllables on my hands. Like, every fingertip is one syllable. Whenever an entire sentence "fits" on an amount of fingers that can be shared through 5 (like, a sentence with 10 or 20 syllables), I get a strange satisfaction from it. I then go on and change the number of syllables on every fingertip until finally the entire sentence fits on one finger.
Does anybody of you do this or something similar?

Yes indeed. I used to do this precise thing that you are speaking of. I'm also a piano player, and whenever I would hear a melody, I'd find myself pretending to play it with my fingers. Drove me nuts.
