I'll get really attached to a place and when I have to leave I go into a depressive state. For example I work at Assateague Island National Seashore and I live in employee housing. I consider the area my home and I'm very attached to Maryland's Eastern Shore. When I left last summer to go back to college for the whole fall semester I went into a very depressive state. I'm afraid it will happen when I leave to go to grad school this August as well especially since it is a new school. This happened when I had to leave Penn State Berks, another place I got extremely attached to, to go to the main campus for my last two years. Is this just something that happens to me or is this a common occurrence in ASD?

I could never leave the town I was born in and lived my whole life (25 years so far). If I go out on vacation for more than 5-7 days, I will start getting so homesick. I am very attached to my country, my town and my house as well...

I feel this way about Vermont. It's so nice up there, and everyone there is nice to me up there, too, and then I go back to my home state (CT) and I hate it. I don't know if it's because Vermont is good, or if it's because CT is exceptionally bad.
