I was just wondering if anyone here has meltdowns that typically consist of hyperventilation. Most people do not describe this in their meltdowns and I was wondering if anyone else had this problem and how you manage it.

Sighing is a gentler way to increase bodily oxygen than hyperventilation

I would suggest 10 deep breathes, over a 3-4 minute period, 5 times a day

It is interesting that you say that because I sigh a lot and my parents seldom let me forget it and often mock me for it. I wonder if they are related somehow?

This is how all my meltdowns start, intense hyperventilation.

Don't know if I'd connect them with meltdowns. But I'm prone to panic attacks, of which hyperventilation is a big part.

My ex sighed, then I started sighing. How can sighing be contracted??

Is there a viral or bacteria element? parasitic??

I never has headaches or sighed till we swapped spit and reproductive juices.

My herbalist reckons its a spiritual thingy, but shes a bit crazy

No, but I do tend to "forget to breathe" in the normal course of things. I literally have to remind myself to breathe, lest I pass out. I also tend to breathe very shallowly. It's also not connected to meltdowns, just poor interoception I surmise.
