My whole life I've had problems with sneezing...a lot. Sometimes as many as 15 in a row, and I'll sometimes do that a dozen times a day. I have the regular hay fever problems in the spring and fall with the pollen in the air. But I seem to go into paroxysms of sneezing with no real allegens around.

I used to think that everyone sneezed and choked in the detergent aisle in the supermarket like I do, but they don't. The smell of decay in the trash can will set me off, as will cigarette smoke and other burning items, smog, perfumes, the smell of my dog when she needs a bath, the smell of the newspaper, even strong cooking odors. My brother and mother thought I was allergic to them for years, because I sneezed so much around them. I found that my mother was wearing perfume, and as for my brother...who knows?

Is it possible that I'm not allergic to these things so much as I'm overly-sensitive to them? Does anyone else have problems with this stuff?

Some of it probably is allergies, but it does sound as if you are also hypersensitive to some things. Also, there may be a mold or fungus problem in your home, that you are more sensitive to than your relatives.

I am extremely sensitive to smoke and sunlight (UV and UR kind of thing). I am also allergic to the majority of food.
