Hello, there are no meetup.com groups for Autism in my area, and I'm trying to connect in person with others on the spectrum, in person. I'm not diagnosed yet, and I'm very very new to the concept of having Autism (although I'm 99% certain that it's the case) so I would feel weird about trying to start my own until I'm more "legit" I guess. I really need to socialize, and I'm becoming desperate for someone to connect with in person who understands on any level what I'm going through...or even if they don't, just a person who believes me would be fantastic. Anyway...are there any other ways to connect in person, besides meetup.com? Thanks :)

I don't know where you're located, but I'd imagine if there aren't any autism meetup groups, there might be something you could still relate to, like a meetup group for shy people, or for Scrabble players or people with an interest in science, things like that.

You can actually try to start one on this website. I'm not officially diagnosed with it either but I'm 99% sure I have it and even my psychiatrist said I might have a mild version of it as well. That's how I started a meet-up, me and someone else on this site set up a meet-up in our area which actually took place last weekend and was quite successful.
