My dad was 42 and "unusual" when I was born. I don't think its suggesting everyone or anything simply saying its higher also if the dad is already aspie this might higher the risk.

There's another thread about this. It is just a correlation and doesn't indicate causation. For example maybe people with autistic traits get married at a later age so kids with autism are born more often to older fathers....or kids are just more prone to be born with problems in general not just autism and schizophrenia when fathers are older. People pointed this out in the other thread... so I thought I'd point it out here. In any case my dad was 47 when I was conceived and 48 when I was born.....and he definitely has autistic traits.....my mom thinks that he's diagnosable. :)
