I am unemployed, study part time and volunteer a few hours a week. I also attend a few social groups during the week. I spent a lot of time messing about online and really get nothing done.

How do others deal with time management and getting into a routine and sticking to it, please?

This may sound strange but i treat myself like a child. Example- i really want to spend some time on wrong planet today but i tell myself i need to get the house cleaned up first then that will be my reward. I know this must sound strange but it works for me and things get accomplished instead of staying stagnent. Hope it helps.

I keep trying that and it hardly ever works.

parents watching over me and helping me
having a time schedule on notes on my iphone(bought iphone because it is recommended for things like this for people with AS)
having written every thing I have to do in a day on reminders
slowly but steadily transitioning into something that I can work with

hasn't worked yet, but it is getting better

I don't deal with it.....I suck at time management....I'm just like you. I also study part-time and am planning to volunteer a few hours. I spend most of my time reading fantasy novels...the rest writing in a journal...going on WP, messing around online, living in my imaginary world (aka daydreaming).......my room doesn't get cleaned, I can't stick to a routine of getting up and going to sleep at the same time, can't always even remember to wash my face or take my pill at the right time, don't get much done.

I work all 3 turns and up to 60 hours and a week, and only get every 3rd weekend off. Try that for a routine!!

Chores only get done when I'm properly rested. All I can say is that plenty of sleep and a healthy diet is the only starting point, because without that at minimum you are behind the 8-ball.

I too am a time management disaster.

I'm 42 & really do lack discipline in this area. It causes me a lot of trouble.

I rarely get things done, & when I do, which is rare, I generally do it at the last possible opportunity.

It took a lot of practice and discipline, but I have a schedule I try to stick to. I allocate a time for everything that needs to be done during the day. I write down to do lists and slot them into my schedule
My schedule is very rigid and I love it. I leave time for everything l. I make time for everything from duties to internet, even to mundane things like smoking a cigarette
