group you already know? Here is an eample. I was at Biglots, waiting in line. This one older gentleman commented on how dreary the cashiers looked. I concurred. We then gotbinto a little conversation about where he was from (Albany) and was visiting friends who lived here. Next case, I was waiting for a ride, and I got into abdiscussion with someone around my age and chewed the fat. Any thoughts?

Yes, I prefer one on one conversations than being in a large group of people. It's less nerve wracking for me.

Just depends on the scenario, if the group are going help introduce me then that can be easier, but if they are just going to watch it adds extra pressure, if they all start talking amongst each other I'm going to get ignored anyway, either that or jump in inappropriately with something random. One-on-one can be easier, but sometimes more intense, if the stranger is very questioning.

In college a classmate noted (and told me to my face) that I easily talked with people on a one-to-one basis but not while in a group. I didn't like her but I appreciated her input.

Anyway I still am really good at talking one-on-one with strangers. And I enjoy talking to strangers. Sometimes they're the only people I talk to on a regular basis.

I find it easy to talk to people I know I will never see again and have no connection in anyway to my life. I feel as if I dont have to worry about my mistakes following me. I hate talking in large groups though. I prefer to get my point across without interjection.
