Does anyone else get this or is it just me?

When you're trying to focus on something and images or random thoughts flood your head so you find it hard to find a solution to what you're doing?

Is this an autistic trait? What is it?

I don't know. When I was younger people noticed I had major problems concentrating, I could never keep still and would wander around the room with what interested me, I had to be constantly alerted to pay attention, I had to have supervision and a schedule to keep me on task and also I make alot of errors in my work and misread alot of questions.

I also have problems ordering my thoughts. Do you think I have ADD? I've never been diagnosed with it.

I make alot of errors because a thought distracts me and instead of writing the right answer instead I write the thought.

That sounds like 100% ADHD, yes. You should consider getting diagnosed.

The teachers don't expect anything because I do quite well at school. But I'm never actually doing my best because of these problems.

What can I do to help myself with these type of problems then?

Hm.. I don't know.. there's medication but I don't take any myself. You should try to get an official diagnosis first.

Yes, I have this problem all the time. I have ADHD though. Stimulants fix it.

Yeah, I can be doing anything from reading to watching television to having a conversation and I'll all of a sudden start thinking about other things.

Yeah, it happens to me too. Imagine trying to write/edit a novel with this... I've been working on mine for so long, that I am actually tired of working on it and have lost interest and I can't stay focused on it very well at all. I am always distracted by other things, especially during the editing phase, which is what I've been working on.

This happens to me, but it's not ADHD in my case. It's OCD for me. Disturbing images, nonsense words, parts of repeating songs, general worries, etc.

See no I'd. Much more ADD- if you are not hyperactive then you don't have ADHD you have ADD. I have ADD and I do have sudden urges and flashes of need to do something that isn't what I'm doing at the moment.
