i think i read that alot people can start to develop schizophrenia, or depression, or social phobia and other stuff in there late teens early 20s, like the large percentage of it happens around this age, i dunno i think this is a stressful time of life for people :? or maybe it is something to do with the brain development , im not 100% sure :?

I developed depression/bipolar in my early twenties, and still suffer today. This was a time when I was trying to stand out in order to mask my Aspie traits (though I just figured out Asperger's within the last 6 months, so I didn't know then). It worked for a while; I even enjoyed some level of popularity in college. However, it required too much energy to maintain an identity that wasn't truly me. Likewise, my Aspie traits seem to be more pronounced now, in my early thirties, because I'm tired of putting on an act for everyone and trying to be normal. I'm starting not to care whether I'm considered "off" anymore. In a way, it's liberating. On the other hand, it's causing problems with my husband (whom I met at 19), who thinks I've changed. I haven't really, but I guess it must seem that way.

Some of my symptoms have improved while others such as being touch, kissed or hug more revolting. But, Sensory Overlead has become extreme for me so this symptom has gotten a lot worse. While my fixation on objects and subjects are a lot more intense, along with my stimming, I think this has been quite good for me. I even see my social issues an asset for me because I don't have to put up with all of the hurt and BS that NTs and a few Aspies dish out.

I guess one explanation is that usually there's a lot of change in your life in your 20's. I know I'm finding that now. I'm having to do more for myself which I never had to do before, so more problems are occurring.
