I know it is importiant to dress Formal to a job interview or to any other importiant event like that but for some reason when it is on a cruise ship I find it completely pointless. The last 3 times I was on a cruise they all had to make everyone dress formal and I never remember to bring anything. So I was always that akward person who was given something formal to ware by my dad. Most of this happens in the night times of when I am on a cruise ship.

Not really for me, but if the situation calls for it, then I will.

I do enjoy dressing up, yes. I regret that we don't have white-tie parties in this country. I didn't know you were supposed to dress up for a cruise, though. It was always shorts and a t-shirt when we cruised, even the $25,000 one that left me feeling tired of vacation.

No, I can't dress formal because of sensory issues.

I despise dressing formally with the blue hot intensity of ten thousand suns. I seriously don't understand why it is so important. The person beneath the clothes is ontologically the same, so I see no reason why being uncomfortable is necessary to participate in certain social occasions. I own nary a shirt with buttons or a collar because I see no need to. Heck, I don't even like to wear socks and shoes outside of work, but do own a nice pair of flip flops!

I enjoy it, just as long as I don't have to wear a dress or a skirt with high heels. If I get to look more masculine, I enjoy it a lot.

I hate it, if only because the only options for dressing nicely enforce the gender binary. Dress shirt and tie for males, classy dress for females. I wish there was something neutral/in-between that I could wear instead that didn't look goofy/outlandish.

I love clothes but I don't like to dress formal. I don't think I even have the right clothes for that. Jeans and a nice top are formal enough for me.

I love dressing formal. I used to do it frequently. Today was the first time I wore a suit in over six months. It functions as a form of armor.

It is funny that you mention dressing up formal for a cruise because in a month I will be going on a short cruise with family. I normally never dress up formally so I own no formal clothes or shoes. I had to buy a dress (being that I'm a girl) and shoes for the one customary formal night. I think it's the night the captian dines with us passangers??

I do not like to dress formal at all but I would feel out of place if I was not dressed up. I would rather deal with being dress-up instead of having people look at me weird plus it is only for a few hours. I think I can handle that.

I love dressing formally. I always dress a few notches more formal than the average person would be expected to in any given setting. It brings a sense of order to my life. I also understand what lotuspuppy meant about it functioning like armor. I feel strong in a suit.

Sometimes, it depends on what I'm wearing. White is not a flattering color on me. :P

Can't stand it. It makes me feel fake.
