Does anyone else think that the issue of 'height' is a common problem with aspergers? I know 2 other people on the spectrum who have a major complex about how tall they feel. I also have a bg issue with height as well and its the cause of a lot my anger problems that and wanting too be the centre of attention in public also

I know I have made threads like this before but still is this a common issue for guys with asaspergers?

I like being tall - I've never considered it a problem. That height could be a problem has never occurred to me.

I'm 6'2" 200lbs but I've always tried to make myself smaller so people wont notice me. I couldn't imagine wanting too be the centre of attention in public. I'm usually tying to figure out how to get people to leave me alone.

I have issues with how tall I am. I'm not that tall, I'm only 5 foot 6, but sometimes I feel much taller than I am, probably because a lot of women say, ''oh, you're tall!'' I know it should be a compliment but I take it as an offense, although it's not meant to be so the person doesn't mean to do any harm and I don't tell them that they have offended me.

I do feel like I'm taller than most of my female friends and relatives. They all seem to linger around 5 foot 3 or 5 foot 4, and I feel like the tallest of the group. Then I'm always asked to get things what they can't reach, and sometimes I just wish I wasn't so tall.

I do know women who are taller than me, but most women that I know of are slightly shorter than me.

I'm 5'6" too, Joe, and I get told I am tall as well and have similar experiences. I also feel tall. It's funny because I tell people who tell me that I am tall that I am considered average height and they have to think about it. Maybe it is the tall end of average? I don't know. Hm.

6'1" 134.6lbs Female

My hight is a huge issue for me. I have long spindly arms and legs. I hit myself on things all the time (spacial awareness issues) My head takes the brunt of it though....

Open cupboard doors, getting into and out of vehicles, Some basement doorways are to low, garden shed doorways, any and all boats are off limits, to many things to smash my head into.

Finding clothes that fit (I don't do my own shopping, my BF does) is really hard, We live in a province that is full of people shorter and rounder than I so finding nice comfy clothes that fit and don't look dumb on me is a giant P.I.T.A. Sleave cuffs that end at my forearms, jeans that fit me around the waist but are miles to short in the legs, I have big feet, so finding comfy womans shoes that fit right is hard, I stick to skate board shoes.

My BF is shorter than I am, I am actually a full head and shoulders taller than he is, so I am the one that gets to reach for things. It actually works kinda good, he's closer to the ground so he deals with all the close-to-the-ground stuff. Whereas I'm much taller so I deal with all the stuff up high. Working together in the kitchen is funny, He will be cutting something on a cutting board on the counter and I'll need something in the cupboard above him, so I just go behind him and reach over his head to open the cupboard and get what I need.

It's not good for hiking in the woods however.... He will walk ahead of me to break the trail (I hate spiders) but because he's so short and I'm so tall he only catches the webs to a certain hight.... which leaves me taking spider webs in the face.....

5'6" here too. Definitely an average height as far as I'm concerned.

I'm 5'2" and feel too short! I hate it! Before I started growing, I used to want to be 6 feet tall when I was a kid. lol. I love wearing big shoes and feeling like I tower over the other girls. I could never imagine myself feeling too tall. I can understand how other people would feel that way, though.

As someone who is 5'2" I don't have this problem. Usually I only get attention if someone is staring at my blonde hair or if I'm with my bf (who is 6' tall). Now, both of my aspie male friends have both independently of each other have told me that they hate this tall-attention they both get. One is thin and wirey and 6' tall, and the other is overweight and 6'4". The latter one seems especially affected by it.

I'm 5'10"; for some of you guys, that may be the high end of average, but not here in the Netherlands, oh no! On AVERAGE, adult Dutch men are slightly over 6 feet tall. I had hoped I might reach that height myself, but it doesn't help that I have Asian genes.

I don't let it be much of a bother to me, though.

I'm 5'11 and I'd rather be about 6'2/6'3.

i'm 6'1" and most women I meet generally like tall guys. I have no problem with my height and it is the least of my worries.
