I don't understand people who say their AS doesn't hurt.

I believe you when you say it, I just don't get it. All my AS has got me is this wreckage of a life, and being banned from the WrongPlanet forums once. I would better like to understand where you come from.

AS is a spectrum. Some people are fortunate to have few symptoms, some people are unfortunate and have a ton of symptoms.

A lot of people who say their AS doesn't hurt are on the few symptoms end.

People who say their AS doesn't hurt, I can think of five possible reasons:

They may not actually have it
They may have learned to adapt in life and cope so their life got better
They may just be mild and they have a happy life and are surrounded by good people and they have good self esteem about themselves and don't care about normality
They have poor self awareness and don't realize how they are badly effected by their symptoms or they just blame it on everyone else
Their symptoms may not be as bad so none of them don't effect them as bad like it does to the others on the spectrum

I am sure there are more.

I am on the mild end of the spectrum, but I reckon I am the one who hates having it the most out of all the members here.

Do you have a job? If you do, I bet that's nice.

No I don't - I've been looking for 4 and a half years and nobody will give me a chance, even after doing voluntary work, courses, work experiences, and having extra support finding work, I still don't get anywhere - all because of this stinking disability I am cursed with. Then people expect me to be happy with having this.....s**t that I've got. No way.

Dose the UK have laws like minimum wage or employment discrimination laws. That could be why you can't get a foot on the ladder. Try working under the table for much less then the minimum.
