Anyone else have motion> sound synesthesia?

The internet is full of interesting/weird sounds to me. Even the cute little emoticons make a nice humming/blinking noise.

Sometimes I like to go on to Youtube and play silent videos to hear it move....

Just seeing if anyone else out there can relate.

I don't hear it like a hallucination...but I hear it. Does that make sense? No, I don't take drugs. In fact, I never noticed anything different until I learned that other people don't hear it too.

I wonder if it is really synesthesia or just a normal variation in how it's perceived? I don't think I have synesthesia but yet I do "hear" sounds from things in motion like this too at times. Perhaps it's a reaction formation from life experiences?

Sounds exactly like synaesthesia to me. Don't experience it myself but does fascinate me. In fact it was while reading Daniel Tammet's book about growing up with synaesthesia (and AS) that I recognised that I was likely an aspie also.

No, it's specified as a type of synesthesia. There have been studies done that confirm that hearing silent motion is a combining of the senses.
There's also a test that I know research studies have used (for people who can't travel) and the video is now on Youtube.
Here's the link:

If you hear something, your mind is combining sight with sound. I always hear the same sound and pitch when watching that video.

It has to be constant. For me, every time someone blinks and I see it, I hear a popping sound. When someone waves their hand, it's a woosh. It adds to over-stimulation for me, too...so I doubt it's just a normal variation. :)
