I just found out today, that I have two murderers in my family, one of them my grandfather (both passed already away).

My mom toled me today, because I toled her about someone who found out, that he has murderers in his family and how terrible this must be to find something out like this.
And then she toled me about my family! 8O

I still can't believe this and I feel very shocked about it.

She toled me, I'm not supposed to tell me brother.
I don't know why she want's this and why she toled me, but he isn't supposed to find out? :?

I asked a friend of mine, if she thinks, that I could harm someone!?
She just answered: "You even brought a bee outside the other day, who was in your room, because you didn't wanted that the bee dies. You could never do such thing"

But never the less I still feel very strange about it. :|

I don't think there's a "murderer gene", you should be okay! ;)

Did you find out what the circumstances were? I think I'd just be intrigued to find out what happened if I learned this about my family.

About the closest in my family was that when a neighbor killed the local sheriff one night in the early 1900s, the neighbor spent the night at my great grandparents house and then my grandfather drove him to the county seat the next morning so he could turn himself in.

One of my grandfathers (I don't remember how far back) hid his money and only a friend knew (and he didn't tell his wife where it was) and when he died the friend stole the money and never gave it to my grandfather.

He must have been naive.

My great-grandfather got hit by lightning. Fortunately there's no lightning gene.

Sorry to hear that about your family, though. I wouldn't worry....each person is an individual. :)

I think there is, maybe not in my family and not really a murderer gene, more a gene for psychopathy.

My grandfather:
I was in the second world war and he was in Russia. Suddenly there stood a russiun soldior in front of him with a wepon and he shot. My mother meant, that he felt guilty afterwards and had problems dealing with it.

The second person, I don't know. But he killed somebody and went to prison for it.

Well, actually not too dramatic, but I was still shocked that she toled me, out of nowere and toled me, I'm not suppoesed to tell my brother! 8O

I'm willing to bet that somewhere some when we all have people in our history that killed. Remember, our ancestors where the strongest, smartest, most ruthless and otherwise tough cookies. That's why they passed on their genes.

Killing enemy soldiers on the battlefield is not considered murder by most standards. There is also such a thing as justifiable homicide (at least in the US).

I'm sure my Grandfathers killed people in the war. I wouldn't class them as murderers though, more self defence/defence of their country..although it depends who your Grandfather was fighting for/what stage of the war this was!

I don't think anyone in my family has ever murdered anyone. Does war count? My uncle served in Vietnam war and my grandfather served in WWII. I a sure they killed people also in it.

I don't think wars count, as soldiers basically have to kill or be killed. That's the case with my grandpa and other ancestors who fought in wars. My grandpa was so traumatized by his experiences in the Battle of the Bulge that he refused to talk about it. It doesn't sound like he had PTSD, but that was probably because asking him was as taboo as talking about sex around the grandparents.

There is not one "psychopath" gene....it's polygenetic so there are many genes involved but also it's influenced by environmental factors (it isn't just genetic). You would have to have the right combination of genes and the right environmental factors interacting with them to be one. Also if you were a psychopath you wouldn't have a conscience, feel guilty or have empathy which clearly you do.... even for bees.....psychopaths quite often have a history of torturing animals as children. Also I can tell that you have a conscience because you're worried about the idea of being a bad person......you want to be a good person......not just get the things you want in life.

Also as others have said killing an enemy soldier in a war is not psychopathic.

 you sound a very nice person....i would not worry about all this,we all have some kind of family history behind us that's not always good ,but you are your own person and this should not affect the way you turn out in the future....i think if we all had to search our distant family members....i'm sure it might just show up something about them that gives us a bit of a sock...do'nt worry 8)
