So, I was diagnosed back in the late 1980s, and now as an adult, I would love to find someplace to get re-diagnosed to get some closure. I know, it's not as easy as it seems, but where can one do it where I am? It's tough to find a good, straight answer.....

Can you dig up old records, show up at a psychologists/psychiatrists office, and ask for a rediagnosis? It would be a pretty common request for a diagnosis as old as yours', I think.

Perhaps...... but since so much time has passed, it's hard to tell for sure.

Technically, any clinical psychologist or psychiatrist should be able to. Lots of them around.

Okay..... where would I have to go to in my area, however?

Ask a GP (basic doctor).

Clinical psychologists and psychiatrists tend to need a referral from a GP to see them.
