All I can find is advertisement type testimonials, no unbiased reviews.

Anyone here heard of it?
Any comments if you know anything about it?

I hope there's something out there that will help. I'm getting desparate. I'll probably follow this and try to find out more.

EDIT: Oh, hit the breaks. This is one of those "natural" remedies.

"Synaptol™ reverses the symptoms of ADHD/ADD by nurturing and balancing your cellular metabolism!"

Uh, I don't have ADD because of cellular metabolism. I have ADD because I have a neurological disorder. Huh uh. Don't waste time on this is my opinion. There's nothing scientific to it.

That's my take on it too... I just was hoping someone could contradict my
natural pessimism/skepticism/cynicism.

At least this herbal remedy doesn't send me several spam emails every day.

I did try epinions.com but there was no data there either.

The advertisement in the first link basically says, "ADD/ADHD isn't real, it's overdiagnosed, but if your child exhibits those behaviors/symptoms, then take something for it anyways"

The last ingredient in the list on my pic is Xylitol, which is a sugar alcohol, a sugar substitute. I don't know much about cellular "biochemistry" but Synaptol looks like a potassium supplement. Those are used for electrolyte imbalances.
People with blood pressure problems might need to discuss it with a doctor first. But the "supplement" seems to be advertised to people who won't consult a doctor.

Long story short...

Wife & I disagree a bit on use of Focalin, so I'm trying to see what else is available.

God, I don't know if I care that much whether they DX me as AS, but I want to do SOMETHING about my ADD. If I can manage that, I think I can radically improve my productivity and that would work wonders in several areas of my life. For one, maybe I'll do better at work, and for another, maybe I won't turn on the water and then forget to take a shower and wonder how long the water has been running.

That just gave me a bad memory. When I was in 6th grade I suddenly exclaimed to the teacher that I may have forgot to turn off/unplug my curling iron. The teacher looked surprised and told me to call home but I told him no one was there. It was one of those helpless, D'oh! moments. I hadn't forgot to turn it off, but forgot that I had remembered.

Funny thing is there are alot things that have "real" studies backing up their anti-ADHD
claims that infact do not work or only help very little (Pycnogenol, Fish Oil).

That product has no studies on it under its tradename anyway. I've never seen any of
the herbs/etc list on an ADHD forum site as even a possible treatment.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi?DB=pubmed

(do your own search on things people)

Xylitol is useless for anti-ADHD. Hell I have a large bag of it and used it in my ice tea when
I run out of Splenda.

Not sure what you mean. I have notice that some new members (not to be confused
with yourself) post spam for useless products. They usually make a few post then we
never hear from them again (again not to be confused with yourself).

I've been keeping my posts short due to time constraints.
I thought maybe someone was suggesting I should have done more research
before posting a question about the "Supplement", and was just saying
that I did do quite a bit, even if I hadn't thought of some angles to search by.

My Daughter has been diagnosed with AS and because many symptoms are
similar/same as ADD a doctor prescribed Focalin. I'm reluctant to put her on
drugs (her symptoms are not profound, but are significant). I prefer to exhaust
other options first. My wife is more of the opinion that it probably won't hurt
(it is a low dosage), and we do need to get her progressing in her schoolwork
and such.

We are going to have my Son evaluated as well, but I'm quite convinced that
he has AS too. I noticed especially on Sunday that he sounded like there is
an echo in the room when he speaks (Repeating the last word or syllable of
his sentences several times). I think it was more pronounced than usual, probably
because he was a bit tired.

He has other traits as well (He will launch into a discourse on his favorite
subject rather than tell you his name). This led to us owning a 3-1/2
foot Iguana... but that's another story.

I'm absolutely convinced that I have AS. Most people who know me
would agree (or do agree once I give them a description of AS to read).
I was known as a "Little Professor", got bullied for being a brainy kid,
didn't fit in socially, hyperfocused, have trouble forcing concentration
on uninteresting subjects. I scored as INTJ on Briggs-Myers, which only
about 2% of the population does. I've always been different, but now I
know why.

Anyway, I figured since there seems to be a fairly good size number of
users here, maybe I would run into someone who had tried Synaptol,
or had previously found unbiased data about whether it is "Snake Oil"
or might be useful.

My wife did try Fish Oil for awhile.
I did see something about Zinc showing some effectiveness when I was
searching on Aspergers/ADD/ADHD and Supplements.

If some supplements are useful I'd be willing to use them, but a multi-
ingredient supplement focused on "Brain Power" sounds a bit far fetched.

However, one of the traits of INTJ that all of my friends said "THAT"S YOU!"
about is "No idea is too far fetched to be entertained".

I figured it was worth at least looking into.

I'm an INTJ too, wonder if it has something to do with AS?

I've been reading a forum site focused on ADD if you posted this on that site you would
have been tar and feathered.

Let me make it clear for you. There is NO OTC "non-drug" based anti-ADD treatment
that is highly effective.

Your way too smart to have come up with Synaptol in any serious search efforts.

Mach do you work for a drug company or something?

Every time someone mentions ADD you mention how impossible it is to treat with anything but a specific drug your more than happy to give the accolades of.

Either that or your overcompensating for your own self doubts?

Anyways its weird.

No I do not have any job or any source of money other than that I have saved from past
work as a physical labor work.

I have never taken any FDA approved ADHD drugs. I have taken a large number of OTC
things and more important I have done a pretty good search of all non-drug treatments
of ADHD. The results of that is there is very little effectiviness in non-drug treatments.

Again Fraya we have been here before. Tell me what the non-drug treatments are?
