Seriously, is there anything worst, even rapist and murderers, can get by. Even other ASpergians can stand us.

I'm not saying I care, but I am saying I've noticed this.

There's nothing worst than this, having cancer, having a sick child, dieing, having no arms, being in a genocide, going to prison, absolutely nothing.

And here I thought you didn't believe ASDs were "disorders."

Nope I've been converted, I have no reason to live, nobody's life is as bad as ours, regular people face virtually no problems. If only there weak little minds would understand how bad our lives are.

The position worse than AS is when you cannot communicate even on a website like this. IMO, that is worse. At least we have an outlet here.

Stoek:
Nothing changed... And we are not low on the bar socially... You just have to find your place... And yes, there are many, many, many places lower on the social ladder.

Homeless
American Indians
African Americans in the Amrican south
Alcoholics
Homosexuals in some areas
Atheists in some areas
Politicians

Find your niche and you will be surprisingly popular. I speak from experience

Ah.

So it's just mean-spirited sarcasm, is it?

Wonderful. I was wondering when the next avenging angel was going to descend from Heaven into our little forum and teach us miserable, clueless saps about the value of "pulling ourselves up by our bootstraps."

Teach us, o-wise-one, for we yearn for your "tough-love" and superior grasp of reality.

I don't think so, I rather get cancer but have people who support me than being in a shity state like I'm now.

Wouldn't consider it mean spirited, more of a concerned reminder.

If I remember correctly, Stoek is still in the beginning of his journey. I, personally, can cut him some slack and I think it would be helpful for all of us to remember that not everyone deals with things i the same way, ykwim?

But that is beside the point.

I think it all depends upon where you stand, where you look, and what you give credence to. I can think of a lot of people who are "lower" than Aspies. And I'm not sure what is meant by the statement

Quote:
even rapist and murderers, can get by
. They are pretty much hated by everyone, and if they are caught, I'd hardly call a life in prison "getting by." So I am confused by that statement.

Downs Syndrom ( aka 'ret*ds') are far worse off.

Normal IQ people with psychosis are worse off socially, and practically.

Heroin junkies, crackheads, and meth addicts, are of lower social standing than aspies.

An NT with dyslexia is of far lower social standing in society than an aspie who can read and write. Indeed innumeracy and illiteracy almost excludes you from the human race itsself in the industrialized world.

Ill admit that you might envy folks with ADHD. They have a comparable disablity to aspies, but they tend to be more popular than aspies.

I think it's some pysc technique, you take a bad thing to a logical extreme, to see how bad it really is. It wasn't meant to be sarcastic.

People who live far worse lives than anyone I can imagine:
1) Child sex slaves.
2) Child soldiers.
3) People dying from terminal illnesses.
4)"Enemies" of an oppressive regime.
5) India's "Untouchables" (though the caste system is supposedly no longer in effect, it still remains cemented in the minds of the people).
6) Lepers in some parts of the world.
7) Albinos in Tanzania and other portions of Africa (their limbs are believed to possess magic powers).
8 ) The financially destitute (the space is to disable the "cool" emoticon: There's nothing "cool" about being poor).
9) Persons with severe deformities, mental retardation and other serious medical conditions.
10) Those addicted to drugs who want to "get clean."

I don't believe persons with ASDs occupy the lowest rung in the social ladder. Many of us have become successful businessmen, lawyers, musicians, etc. Rapists (especially those who perpetrate sexual offenses against children) are the absolute lowest of the low in the eyes of many in society (even in prison culture).
