If I tell people I am a certain way and if I violate it and make an exception I feel extremely bad. It is not because others would judge me. They may not even come to know about this exception ever. But in my head, it is like I broke a rule and I feel guilty.
Nowadays I never want to say specifically that I have this quality because I am scared that I would violate it.
But this also annoys me because part of my identity in my opinion is to be well defined and to stick to it.
Does any one else have it?

I've been writing a novel for about two months. My rule is to write 1000 words per day. If I break that rule I feel bad. I was sick with gout and a fever about two weeks ago and I lost about 7 days of writing, but other than that, I'm on track.

I'm like that too......I have to read at least 70 pages a night on a weeknight and 140 on a weekend night or I feel bad for example.

Yes, I am rigid in my behavior, but it matters just to me, I don't really think of what anyone else may think of me.

As long as it's something that's not contradictory I don't harp on it for too long. For example I don't do any work on Sundays. I'll make exceptions if my family needs help or I have a simple repair that impedes my getting to church or doing some shopping. But nobody's ever going to see me eating mushrooms after I've made people aware I don't like mushrooms.

It doesn't bother me or result in any problems, but I am like this, yup.

Whenever I watch a TV show, I feel like I have to watch at least one episode per night or I will forget about the plot details and the characters' personalities and have to start all over again. As a result of this, I have seen just the earliest episodes of my favorite shows more times than I'd care to count. I usually read about spoilers on Wikipedia because I know I will probably never get around to finishing the series myself.

If I break this rule by forcing myself to pick up where I last left off no matter how much of a "break" I have taken, then I will feel bad.
