I don't like to put too many things in mine because I think that if it gets too full it will not cool efficiently and that will strain the motor and then the fridge will break and I will have to talk to my landlord about a replacement and will then have to wait however long it takes for the landlord to buy me a new one. Or I could go and buy one myself and just charge the landlord for it. hmm. This was about freezer storage, sorry.
My definition of "too full" is maybe a little strict. If the space inside is more than, say, 25% occupied I start to get nervous. This is an OCD thing for me. Reliability of the fridge, that is.
This would be very much in tune with the rest of my neighbor's personality. Interesting, I wouldn't have thought of that myself.
As to the sausage, be very careful! I had exactly the same thing happen to me, and in the end I had the "great" idea of throwing it to a stray cat that lives outside the building. Since then, 2 years ago, I've become the area's stray cats mommy.
